Beverage consultant. Creative director when the project needs it. Founder of MRD Spirits.
Born in Buenos Aires, David Cordoba came into beverage through advertising. The pull of the bar took over in his twenties. Three decades later, his work spans bar concept design, beverage program development, service standards, training, brand strategy, and creative direction for luxury hospitality and premium spirits.
For six years he was Global Brand Ambassador for Bacardi, where he helped develop the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition. That period helped shape his approach to education, trade communication, competitions, and global advocacy. He was recognised as a finalist at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards and has been featured in Drinks International, Australian Bartender, Stuff.co.nz, FIZZZ, and Nightclub & Bar.
Today David works with luxury hotels, hospitality groups, restaurants, and premium drinks brands across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Clients and projects include Aman, Rosewood, The Oberoi, Capella, Sushi Samba, Patina Maldives, Conrad, Villa d'Este, and Meliá. His work can cover strategy, menus, manuals, styling, training, opening support, and the creative direction required to make the beverage program feel complete.
Alongside the consultancy, he is the founder of MRD Spirits, an independent rum company built from a bartender's point of view. The portfolio includes The Lovers Rum, La Forza Rum, and Stellar Rum.
